John has over 30 years experience in financial services spanning retail and corporate banking, consumer lending, cards (issuing and acquiring), payments and cross-border remittance, Tier 1, challengers and Fintechs.

John’s formative years were spent with HSBC where, over a 13 year career, he began by leading the Card Issuing and Acquiring businesses in the UK, launched and managed the Corporate card portfolio, and eventually moving to Group Cards where he was the card operations lead across HSBC’s 20+ international markets.

From 2000, John joined Egg Bank to lead the rapid expansion of its consumer lending business with Egg becoming Europe’s largest internet bank in the process. After 6 years, he moved to Bank of Ireland as head of the UK Cards business responsible for growth of its credit and prepaid card portfolio as part of its JV partnership with the UK Post Office.

Following roles at Santander and Hewlett Packard, John has worked with leading FS brands, challengers and fintechs across Europe, Middle East and the US specialising in Cards & Payments.
